what's in it?

With most dogs being lactose intolerant, obviously our ice cream had to be dairy-free. To do this, we’ve used coconut milk which is great for your dog’s health – some even call it a super-food. It was also important that our ice cream wasn’t full of sugar & artificial colours and flavours; we wanted to create something as healthy as it was delicious. To do this, we substituted sugar with organic agave nectar, and use real ingredients to flavour our treats. To create our delicious peanut butter & bacon flavour, you’ll never guess what we added – real peanut butter & crispy coconut bacon. It’s no secret why dogs love PB+B! Our carob ice cream contains pure carob powder & our strawberry ice cream contains strawberries, strawberry extract & natural colouring.

All of our ingredients are 100% natural & 100% delicious and approved by a pet nutritionist.

As an animal nutritionist I am always on the lookout for healthy, natural treats for my dog. So many treats on the market are loaded with artificial ingredients, sugar and salt - but Hugo’s dog ice creams are a refreshing change from this trend.

I have absolutely no hesitation feeding it to my own dog, and recommending it to other dog owners. Not just a delicious treat, it is also made from fresh, whole, human-grade ingredients, which offer genuine supplementary health benefits for dogs. I definitely recommend checking out Hugo’s if you’re looking for a nutritious treat for your pooch.
